- Wonder why period seems to be late.
- Tell self, "cannot be pregnant, cannot be pregnant."
- Repeat steps 1 and 2 for about two weeks.
- Buy pregnancy test while grocery shopping just to prove point.
- Take pregnancy test.
- Wait 3 minutes.
- Hyperventilate when line appears after ten freaking seconds.
- Call husband in hysterics.
- Take extra test in the "bonus pack" to be sure first test wasn't defective.
- Realize tests are perfectly fine.
- Call 57 doctors to make appointments for ob/gyn exam and to figure out what/how much thyroid medication is safe and necessary to take while pregnant.
- Immediately begin weaning child #1.
- Weep.
- Pray.
- Begin coming to terms with the fact that child #1 will be barely 18 months old when child #2 arrives.
- Realize that this is a miracle.

Wow! Congratulations!
Congratulations! I have a friend whose second child was triplets(freak accident). I always think about her when I'm feeling overwhelmed by motherhood.

Oh, Kate!!! Congratulations!!!!
I am so happy for you.
Oh, man! I can hardly believe I read that question on my blog correctly - I was totally joking in the email I sent :).
Don't panic. They'll be about the same ages as my girls, and life is good here. It sounds like you're dealing well. And if you're interested, despite some crap comments from the nurse at my first OB appointment when I was pregnant with #2, I did not wean Marianne till she was a year and could move to cow's milk. It's totally your choice - don't feel pressured one way or the other. But I know some healthcare professionals say you should wean, and others say there's no reason to do so if you don't want to just for your own sanity.
CONGRATULATIONS!!
